Carolyn joined the Faculty of Management and Law in March 2015 as Head of Administration. Her areas of expertise include developing and implementing strategy, organisational design and development, change management and process enhancement. Carolyn has a wealth of experience in helping University faculties, departments and teams to adopt new ways of working which maximise performance and morale. She began her career as a project manager at the University of Leeds in 2003, leading strategic and transformational projects such as the creation of the Lifelong Learning Centre to provide more strategically aligned opportunities in lifelong learning.
Leaving HE in 2007, Carolyn became Operations Manager for the Comprehensive Clinical Research Network at the National Institute of Health Research. This involved designing and implementing an operating model for the national network with an annual budget of £280m. Joining the University of Manchester in 2010, Carolyn delivered a programme of curriculum changes for the MBChB. In 2012 she gained the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and began delivering process improvements across the institution. Carolyn returned to the University of Leeds in 2013 to lead a capacity building programme for c.800 staff as part of the newly created Student Education Service.
Since joining the Faculty of Management and Law, Carolyn has led the re-design of core processes, initiated the University's Organisational Change Framework to restructure support services and is actively involved in the University-wide change agenda, the Bradford Excellence Programme. She also joined the pilot cohort for the new Bradford:Leader programme.
