Julia graduated from Birmingham University in 1981 and qualified as a solicitor in 1985. She worked as a solicitor in private practice in Bradford and Leeds for seven years, specialising in commercial conveyancing.  Julia then moved into legal education and helped develop and has taught on the University of Bradford LLB since 2005 as well as Employment Law on the  MSC in HRM and previously on the Graduate Diploma in Law course. Julia's main focus is on teaching and she has contributed to a book on legal skills for new law students, Cherkassky, Cressey, Gale,Guth et al (2010) Legal Skills, Palgrave MacMillan, Basingstoke
