Import University Holiday Dates into your Office 365 Calendar

IT Services has created a file containing University holiday dates which can be quickly downloaded and imported into your Office 365 calendar.

The holidays (from Christmas 2015 up to New Year 2018) will appear in your calendar as 'Out of Office All day' events.

Outlook on the web users

Dates imported into Outlook on the web will be synchronized to your mailbox on the mail server, making them visible in your Outlook client and on any devices connected to your Office 365 account.

  1. Save this UniversityHolidaysCalendar2015-17.ics file to your computer (you'll be prompted for your University username and password). Make a note of the location.
  2. In your calendar in Outlook on the web, from the New drop down menu select Add Calendar.
  3. Select From File and browse to the UniversityHolidaysCalendar2015-17.ics calendar file that you saved earlier, select it and click on Save.

The University holiday dates will be imported into your calendar as Out of Office All day events.

Note: This will only update the calendar you are logged in to. Other calendars (eg shared mailbox calendars) will need to be done separately.

Outlook 2010 users

Dates imported into your Outlook client will be synchronized to your mailbox on the mail server, making them visible in Outlook on the web and on any devices connected to your Office 365 account.

    1. Save this UniversityHolidaysCalendar2015-17.ics file to your computer (you'll be prompted for your University username and password). Make a note of the location.
    2. In Outlook, click on File - Open - Import.
    3. Select Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file (.vcs) and then click on Next.
    4. Browse to the UniversityHolidaysCalendar2015-17.ics calendar file that you saved earlier, select it and click on OK.

    The University holiday dates will be imported into your calendar as Out of Office All day events.

    Outlook 2011 users

    Dates imported into your Outlook client will be synchronized to your mailbox on the mail server, making them visible in Outlook on the web and on any devices connected to your Office 365 account.

      1. Save this UniversityHolidaysCalendar2015-17.ics file to your Mac (you'll be prompted for your University username and password). Make a note of the location.
      2. In Outlook drag and drop the file into your calendar.

      The University holiday dates will be imported into your calendar as Out of Office All day events.

      Note: This will only update the calendar you are logged in to. Other calendars (eg shared mailbox calendars) will need to be done separately.
