Healthcare management and leadership
The leadership and management research in the faculty covers a range of diverse topics that reflect the expertise of academics in this particular field.
The emphasis is on applied research and its impact and relevance to the health and social care sector. Research is conducted globally, collaboratively with other Universities, institutions and partners to produce world class research and publications.
Recent research areas include both general and specialist topics, for example, low pay and the implications for the social care workforce with evidence from the report submitted to the Low Pay Commission. Other topics include: The experience of midwives with full and part-time working; leadership development for new and emerging roles as a consequence of national health and social care reorganisation; system leadership in public health and implications for national and global approaches; Decision-making about infertility journeys amongst working couples across a range of socio-economic groups in the UK; and issues in service development and improvement.
