Learn quick and easy hands-on techniques for creating moving life stories with older residents or clients, including those with dementia or other memory problems.

Digital storytelling goes beyond traditional life-story work to create a short film which is customised to the individual person.

The workshop is based on a NHS-funded research study which showed improvements in well-being and social participation for people with dementia during making and watching their own films.

The workshop will be suited to: care staff in health or social care environments catering for people with dementia or memory problems; arts or activity coordinators; social researchers; volunteers; relatives of people with dementia; students in health and social care.

The content is transferable to other areas of care work such as learning disability or physical disability.

No prior experience is needed. Handouts and take-away resources will be provided to help you put the approach into practice.

There is no charge but please let us know you are coming, by email or phone to Andrea (a.j.capstick@bradford.ac.uk; 01274 235192).  Please give your name, organisation (if relevant) and number of people attending.
