Confined Space Entry
A confined space is defined as "any space, including any chamber, tank, vat, silo, pit, trench, pipe, sewer, flue, well or other similar space in which, by virtue of it's enclosed nature, there arises a reasonably foreseeable specified risk".
A confined space has one or more of the following attributes:
- limited access or egress
- the space is not intended for continuous working
- the space contains known, or potentially, hazardous substances and / or atmospheres
- conditions of engulfment or entrapment may exist or develop
