Roger Mosey

Doctor of the University

For his work in broadcasting and media.  Bradford-born Roger Mosey is the BBC’s Director of London 2012 and is responsible for the planning of coverage for the Olympics across all genera and platforms.  He was formerly the Editor of Today on BBC Radio 4 and Controller of BBC Radio 5 Live.  Mr Mosey is a trustee of the National Media Museum and has supported projects such as the Sport Creative Future project.

David Richardson

Doctor of the University

For his role in supporting community cohesion and regeneration in Bradford.  Mr Richardson has been Chairman of Bradford Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the multi-agency Safer Communities Partnership.  He has also served as a board member of the Local Strategic Partnership, the Bradford Trident New Deal for Communities Programme and the Bradford Communities Housing Trust.  As the city’s senior policeman at the time of the 2001 riots Mr Richardson was responsible for maintaining order and leading the operational and media response.

Trevor Jarvis

For his passion and tireless campaigner on behalf of people with dementia and for the improvement of public awareness of dementia. Trevor is a passionate and tireless campaigner on behalf of people with dementia care, and for the improvement of public awareness of dementia.  He has provided long-standing service to the University’s Division of Dementia Studies as well as serving as an ambassador to several leading mental health charities.

Maqsood Sheikh

Doctor of Letters

Maqsood Sheikh is an Urdu short story writer who tackles modern subjects. He has been a key figure in the promotion of Urdu literature for over 60 years and has played a prominent role in the development of community cohesion within Bradford.
