Grant of Title of Emeritus or Emerita Professor
1 The Council, after considering a report by the Senate, may grant the title of Emeritus/Emerita Professor to any professor of the University, at or after retirement, in recognition of distinguished services to the Bradford Institute of Technology and/or the University.
2 An Emeritus/Emerita Professor shall be a member of the University and shall, for all purposes of courtesy and on ceremonial occasions, have the same privileges as a professorial member of the Senate but shall not be eligible for membership of the Senate or of the Council or of any Faculty Board. An Emeritus/Emerita Professor shall be a member of the Court.
3 An Emeritus/Emerita Professor may be invited to take such part in the teaching of the University as may be determined from time to time.
4 Guidelines for the grant of the title of Emeritus/Emerita Professor shall be set out in the Regulations.
