Khadim's story

Over the last eight years, Khadim Hussain has worked with various non-governmental organisations in Afghanistan, including the Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC), the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA), Asia Culture House, and Saday-e-Mardum Bi-weekly. His recent work at NAC has focused on project development, implementation, advocacy, and donor engagement—playing a key role in education and research initiatives led by Washington University in St. Louis on Equitable Quality Education, Child Resilience, Psycho-Social Support in schools. He has facilitated various positive peace workshops and trainings for hundreds of youths, children, teachers and parents about inclusive education, child development, sustainable development and dialogue and conflict transformation. He also contributed to developing training materials, manuals, strategic plans and policies.

Khadim was born and raised in the Jaghori District of Ghazni Province, Afghanistan. His upbringing in this marginalised and conflict-affected region continues to inspire his commitment to development, social justice, education, and peacebuilding.

Khadim is also a co-founder of Afghanistan Youth Empowerment and Peace-building Organisation (AYEPO) to promote youth empowerment, positive peace and inclusion.
