Claire Pryke

Claire has strategic and operational responsibility for Recruitment Operations within the University, which includes a centralised Admissions function (for UK/EU and international  applications – undergraduate and postgraduate taught and research), Visa Support, UK and Europe Recruitment, On Campus Recruitment Events and Recruitment in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Americas. Claire currently also has temporary management responsibility for the Events and Partnerships team, whilst the Head of Engagement and Partnerships is on maternity leave.

Claire has a particular interest in enhancing the University’s recruitment offer for key stakeholders including applicants, their parents and carers and schools and colleges, as well as improving the University’s engagement with a wide range of institutions and European, African and American recruitment agents.
 
Prior to joining the Directorate of External Affairs in 2014, Claire led the marketing and recruitment function in the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Bradford for over five years, where she gained extensive experience of developing partnerships with a wide range of schools and colleges.
 
Claire has nine years’ experience of working in Higher Education, and prior to joining Bradford worked in a marketing management role at the University of Leeds. Before this, she managed the marketing function at Leeds Thomas Danby (one of the largest Further Education colleges which merged to form Leeds City College in 2009) for three years, and spent eight years working in marketing roles in industry.
 
Claire is a graduate of the University of Bradford in French and Spanish, has an MA, CIM Postgraduate Diploma and CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing and a Postgraduate Certificate in Management and Leadership in Education. She has maintained her CIM Chartered Marketer status since 2004.
 
Claire is a Community Governor at Elliott Hudson College, a sixth form college which opened in September 2015 in Morley, Leeds.
