Staff Briefing

Staff briefing is a weekly email that is sent to all members of staff at the University of Bradford. It is sent on a Monday, unless there has been a Bank Holiday and it will be sent on the following Tuesday.

The purpose of staff briefing is to either signpost and direct staff to other webpages where more content can be found or briefly advertise an event or opportunity that does not feature on another website. 

It consists of a collection of articles submitted by staff from across the University; from advertising academic talks to fundraising coffee mornings. The news items are categorised into:

News: This may include news on University awards, a call for volunteers for Clearing or a new update on the website.

Events: This may include academic talks organised by a faculty, updates on Graduation ceremonies or news on annual events such as the End of Year Celebration.

People News: This may include information on the death or retirement of a University member of staff or details of a leaving do for a member of staff.

Works on Campus: This may include any information from Estates & Facilities on engineering, building or road works that may cause inconvenience during working hours.

Development opportunities, courses and workshops: This will include a full week’s schedule of all the personal development workshops and courses available for staff to book on to. Any other seminars can be included. 

To submit an item into staff briefing you must email briefing@bradford.ac.uk by 12noon on the Friday before. It must be no longer than 150 words and contain links to help direct people towards the relevant webpages/website. We cannot attach images.

Special Staff Briefing

Special staff briefings are emails sent to all staff in extreme, rare and unprecedented situations which are imperative to crucial University business. Authorisation for a special staff briefing to be sent must come from a member of Exec Board and agreed with the Head of Communications, Emma Bridge
