Experience bold new voices in South Asian playwriting at the DISCOVERY Bradford Showcase, an evening of staged readings that celebrate fresh talent and compelling stories.

Over the past several months, four emerging writers have developed original short plays through Kali Theatre’s acclaimed DISCOVERY programme, which nurtures bold ideas, confident voices, and new perspectives. Through workshops, dramaturgy, and mentoring, each playwright has created a 20-minute script inspired by their own stories, questions, and creative impulses.

Now, these brand-new works come to life in performed readings by professional actors. Audiences will encounter imaginative worlds and powerful narratives, offering an exciting glimpse into the future of British South Asian playwriting.

Featured Writers: Shazia Bibi, Samara Daniels, Nabeela Ahmed, and Lois Vohra.

This event is a celebration of creativity, community, and the rich artistic talent emerging from Bradford and beyond. Whether you’re passionate about new writing, part of the South Asian creative community, or simply curious about the next wave of theatre-makers, join us for an inspiring evening of storytelling.
