About this in-person event

FOR UNIVERSITY OF BRADFORD STAFF ONLY

With the exciting announcement that Bradford has been awarded the City of Culture designation in 2025, alongside growth in our own cultural capacity in recent years, now is the right time to explore further what our culture plan looks like heading in to 2025. We expect through the Council’s own cultural strategy and the year of 2025 that the transformational impact will be significant, but so too will the enhancement of the student experience and future jobs for our graduates, our academic research opportunities and the wellbeing of all our staff, students, alumni and communities. We are well placed to have a central role and to be involved in suggesting, testing, iterating and shaping ideas, content and approaches to the year of culture.

On 12th July, with the support from Al Dix (local arts leader, 509 Arts and honorary graduate) will start to unpack our offer and look to what is happening in the city and region to ensure we can align our capacity and interest with the opportunities that exist. This is a huge opportunity to collaborate and shape ways in which we can leverage our collective expertise to enhance and impact the year of culture and beyond.

This workshop is relevant to you if you have an active interest in culture, your research, teaching or professional role contributes to this agenda. Please note it is not a briefing session on the City of Culture.

This workshop will take place in the Richmond D2 from 9.30-12.30 with a light lunch to follow.
