About

Come and share your stories and memories of supporting Bradford City AFC with us at the Stories of Valley Parade Café Session.

The cafe will be a relaxed environment, we will serve tea, coffee and pastries and you will be able to answer questions and share stories about your experience and memories as a Bradford City fan. There will be lots of different ways to answer the questions from writing answers on post-it notes to voice recordings and you only have to answer the questions you want to.

Don't forget to share this with family, friends and other fans too.

About the Stories of Valley Project
The University of Bradford became a main partner of Bradford City AFC in 2022 which has seen the ground named as the University of Bradford Stadium (we know it will always be Valley Parade) and the University as the back of shirt sponsors. The University were already working with the football club before this, the partnership really started when the University’s Burns Unit was set up in response to the Bradford City Fire.

The partnership with Bradford City AFC has led to two exciting projects which we are going to use to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Bradford City Fire in 2025 as well as on other occasions.

Digital Copy of the Stadium: The University will be creating a digital copy of the stadium which people will be able to explore using VR. The stories collected will be shared with artists to turn into poems, pictures, films etc and will then be attached to different places in both the physical and digital copy of the stadium for people to view (and share).

40th Anniversary of the Bradford City Fire: Innovations from the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit: The University of Bradford’s Burns Unit are writing a book to mark the 40th Anniversary of the fire and the positive contributions their research has made to burns patients around the world. The stories will be used in the book to share other examples of how the community supported each other following the fire. Profits from the book will go towards continuing the work of the Burns Unit.

We hope you will be able to join us at the cafe and share your stories with us. Book your place so we can make sure we have enough food for everyone.

If you can’t attend the cafe session but would like to share your stories with us, you can also complete this online form.
