The 30th Conference of Parties of the UNFCCC (COP30) will be hosted in Belem, Brazil. This year's COP is important as it signifies a halfway point to 2030, when countries are expected to meet their climate targets.

With the targets less than 5 years away, the focus of COP30 includes:

  • Reinforcing multilateralism and cooperation among countries;
  • Connecting climate change to individuals and the economy;
  • Accelerating implementation of a just transition to renewable energy;
  • Discussions around protection of the Amazon & Tropical forests.

Stakeholders must work towards collective efforts and discussions on climate and developmental issues, within the context of global climate policies, climate financing and States' commitments and ambition.
