A number of lit lanterns placed on the ground in a field with people stood in the distance.

The University of Bradford, in collaboration with Cecil Green Arts, Bradford Death Café, and Kynd, invites you to take part in this unique celebration of life, remembrance, and creativity.

Taking place at Northcliffe Park, Shipley, everyone is welcome to join the Festival of the Dead Parade. The Parade will be a short, accessible walk and along the way, we’ll be joined by gentle music and light as we make our way to the heart of the celebration.

You are welcome to bring: A lantern or candle, an object of remembrance or memories of those who have died.

At the end of the Parade there will be a community altar where you can place your lanterns and objects in remembrance and celebration of the people you have lost. Please take these home with you afterwards.

Following the community altar, everyone is warmly invited to stay for music, tea, and coffee — a chance to connect, reflect, and share stories together.

Good to know:

  • The event lasts 2 hours.
  • It is open to all ages.
