Join us for a fascinating evening with Professor Charles Spence from the University of Oxford, and Dr Eleanor Bryant from the University of Bradford.

Explore how your senses of sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste work together to shape how you experience the world — and how this research is transforming everything from food design to wellbeing.

You’ll also get to take part in a fun PROP taste test to find out if you’re a Super Taster! Your genes could explain why some foods taste delicious to you — and bitter to others.

About the speakers

Professor Charles Spence is Head of the Crossmodal Research Laboratory at the University of Oxford. A world expert on how our senses interact, he has collaborated with Heston Blumenthal, Toyota, and leading global brands, and his award-winning research includes the famous ‘sonic crisp’.

Dr Eleanor Bryant is Associate Professor in Health and Eating Behaviour Psychology at the University of Bradford. Her research explores how psychological traits influence eating behaviour and food preferences across the lifespan.
