Dr David Spicer, Associate Professor and Director of Business Engagement in the Faculty of Management Law and Social Sciences, and former Dean of the School of Management, will deliver a masterclass on Strategic adaptation and firm resilience.
Strategic adaptation and firm resilience: Lessons in how crisis can strengthen firms and ensure that they are better placed to succeed long term
The masterclass will discuss the characteristics that ensure firms can position themselves to respond to and benefit from crises and radical market transformations. The workshop will explore the operational and dynamic capabilities required of firms to both survive challenging business environments as well as those needed to ensure that they are positioned for success as they move into new strategic and operational realities. The workshop will draw on longitudinal research exploring SMES response to strategic change prior to, during and following on from Covid. As well as as wider research looking at larger firms (from high technology and pharmaceutical sectors) responses to strategic change conducted at the School of Management.
Also in attendance will be Jonaid Khan, Alumni Relations Manager, and Laura Walsh, International Alumni Engagement Officer, who will share key updates from the University and talk about the benefits and engagement opportunities available to University of Bradford alumni worldwide.
