Revolving Green Fund 4 – The Bradford Energy Quarter
The locations where elements of the work will be undertaken are: JB Priestley Library, Student Central, Phoenix South West & Phoenix North East Buildings. The 'physical' project involves fabric improvement, improved building management control and infrastructure, introduction of LED lighting, removal of air conditioning, replacement of in-efficient plant, demand management, Photovoltaic (PV) installation and the integration into respective heating systems of two Combined Heat & Power (CHP) engines to replace in-efficient boiler plant.
The CHP scheme commenced on 15 August and will be completed by early December 2016 and is funded by an interest free loan from Salix to coincide with the enabling works that need to be completed beforehand. The Low Voltage (LV) infrastructure and switchgear replacement will commence in September and be complete in February 2017. The introduction of LED lighting throughout The Bradford Energy Quarter will be implemented before Christmas 2016 as part of a campus wide LED lighting project.
The project will also see the replacement of windows to Level 01 of JB Priestley Building and the replacement of the building's chiller plant with a completion date of November 2016. Exact scope of works for the PV installation, building management improvements, and server room improvements are still to be finalised.
