Disability Confident
The University of Bradford is a level 2 Disability Confident employer. This award was renewed in May 2019, and we are aiming to achieve Disability Confident Leader level 3. The Disability Confident scheme replaces the positive about disability ‘Two Ticks’ scheme.
What is the Disability Confident Scheme?
The Disability Confident Scheme aims to help employers make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people. It is voluntary and has been developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives. The Disability Confident scheme has three levels that have been designed to support organisations:
- Disability Confident Committed (level 1)
- Disability Confident Employer (level 2)
- Disability Confident Leader (level 3)
The Disability Confident scheme aims to help us successfully employ and retain disabled people and those with health conditions. It is a rigorous but easily accessible scheme and benefits particularly smaller businesses. The schemes access to the guidance, self-assessments and resources is completely free.
The Equality and Diversity Team will be working closely with Human Resources and N-able staff network for promoting disability equality to achieve this. Please contact equality@bradford.ac.uk for further information.
