Bradford is at the forefront for delivering expert knowledge and training in Outside Broadcasting. Outside Broadcasting at Bradford is taught as part of our current media Undergraduate courses by a leading team of technicians and media production lecturers using our Outside Broadcasting truck; a unique piece of technology within higher education in the UK.
Bradford's School of Media, Design and Technology has a state-of-the-art, fully equipped, Outside Broadcasting truck. The mobile unit engages students in a hands-on, learning environment where they work on professionally organised shoots out on location.
The School of Media, Design and Technology will soon be launching a Level 7 Apprenticeship and Post-Graduate Diploma in Outside Broadcasting, aimed to deliver expert training in a developing field of media production.
The course has been designed in partnership with the Digital Media Working Academy and leading television and broadcast companies including; BBC, SKY, ITV and specialist Outside Broadcasting companies.
Traditional craft skills in Outside Broadcasting, such as Vision, Lighting, Sound, Camera and Power will be supplemented by skills training in the increasingly important new disciplines of Media Management and Networking Technology. This is to take account of the demands of things like Ultra HD/4K TV.
In collaboration with Creative Skillset, the Outside Broadcasting programme has been developed as part of a series of new Apprenticeship training courses in partnership between Universities and creative industry companies. The aim is to develop a highly skilled workforce that have been professionally trained and taught within the thriving creative industries. Work based learning, company mentoring, assessment from leading professionals, technical R&D and a portfolio based award are all part of the new proposal.
The Outside Broadcasting programme is an approved standard. This course will be delivered to industry professionals working within television and broadcast companies. To register your interest in the course please contact our Digital Media Working Academy by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
