Sharing Creative Ideas

Lecturer from the University of Bradford to take part in interactive presentations alongside school teachers, museum and gallery educators, creative practitioners and youth workers from across the region.

Senior Lecturer in New Media, Patrick Allen, will be delivering a presentation on 'visual diaries';  a key tool used for developing creativity, visual awareness and practical skills necessary in Animation, Games and Digital Media at the event Creative TeachMeet 2.

The visual diary, both as a paper based sketchbook, and also as an online Blog, can also be useful way for students to explore and investigate their own identities and the worlds that they live in. These tools are fundamental to any form of creative practice.

Patrick explains: "I'll presenting some of the work that we do with our first year Animation, Games and Digital Media students. For many a diary or journal is a 'must have' for any creative practitioner. It's a key way of capturing ideas, inventions, and developing project work. I'll be sharing some of the strategies that we use with our students with fellow teachers, gallery educators and others in education related professions."

The event will take place at The Impressions Gallery, Bradford on Thursday 18 June 2015, 5pm to 7pm. All presentation spaces are now filled, but there are still spaces if you would like to watch and learn, please book your place now.
