Bradford Media School Graduate, James Newton, works on James Bond film Skyfall!

Bradford Media School Graduate, James Newton, talks about his first job after University, working the James Bond film Skyfall!

James said "After graduating I was lucky enough to gain two weeks of work experience during the production of James Bond's Skyfall. For the first week I was based mainly in the production office at Pinewood Studios, helping out with script printing, setting up for production meetings, sorting out Daniel Craig's dressing room and most importantly, buying Sam Mendes his morning coffee!

For the second week I then went onto the set and was based with the camera department as they filmed on the 007 Stage. There were two sets inside the 007 Stage, one being the MI6 underground bunker and the other the skyscrapers in Shanghai. For the most part we filmed inside MI6, with long but enjoyable days, shooting scenes that were covered from almost every angle  (I counted 29 angles for one scene in particular). It was also great to work with such an established cast, including Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes and Naomi Harris.

It was an amazing experience where I learnt an incredible amount, from details about film cameras and lighting to big budget filmmaking procedures and more. I feel extremely lucky to have been part of such an interesting and important film and I'm hoping with this experience I will now be able to work on similar jobs in the future."
