Dr Amir Khan holds a MSc in Environmental Sciences and a PhD in Materials and Experimental Acoustics from the University of Bradford (UK). Dr Khan progressed from a research fellow to a full-time lecturer in Infrastructure Engineering; he has been the leading investigator in several projects with DTI, EU, and SME's.
Dr Khan's main research interests are in novel materials and material characterisation methods. His other area of work relates to soil-structure interaction, designing earthquake resistance structures and numerical modelling. A majority of funding for his research comes from the industry and European Union. Dr Khan is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Applied Acoustics and Editorial Board Member for the Journal of materials, minerals and mining at Bradford. He has co-authored 1 book, over 15 journal and conference papers.
