Chemical Engineering Accreditation Announcement

The School of Engineering is pleased to announce full accreditation has been awarded by the professional accreditation body, the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) for its degrees in Chemical Engineering.

Following on from an accreditation assessment which took place in February 2015; the assessment feedback taken from a panel of assessors was put forward to the IChemE Education and Accreditation Forum (EAF). The EAF made the final announcement for the School of Engineering to be awarded the accreditation for its Chemical Engineering programmes.

This assessment means all students on MEng and BEng Chemical Engineering programmes; current and those who have graduated since the programmes began in September 2010, will be able to proudly boast that their degree is accredited by the IChemE.

IChemE has also accredited the MSc Chemical and Petroleum Engineering programme, for those students with a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering.

Positive feedback was given by the assessors for a number of areas. The accreditation panel was particularly impressed by; the enthusiasm of staff, the impressive laboratory facilities, the good employability prospects and links with industry.

This accreditation has been a much awaited moment for Chemical Engineering at Bradford, of which huge credit should be given to our staff and students who have worked hard in achieving this goal.
