Introduction to Mindfulness

Prerequisite: Participants should commit to attend the FULL session.

Target Audience: Open to all members of staff.

Aim: this session aims to give an introduction to Mindfulness theory and practice. Regular practice of Mindfulness can help enhance physical and emotional wellbeing, decrease stress, improve memory, enhance creativity, assist concentration, and build emotional resilience.

Objectives: by the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

- understand what is meant by Mindfulness;

- have some experience of Mindfulness practice;

- identify some resources to help them take their understanding and practice further.

The session will be highly experiential, with a large part of the time spent doing Mindfulness practice; please ensure that you wear comfortable clothes.

Session duration: 2 hours.
