Advice and guidance for applicants

Your experience at Bradford

You’ll find that the start of term will look a little different when you arrive but we can promise that you’ll still have an outstanding experience as part of TeamBradford.

Your learning with us

At Bradford, we want to ensure that you have an outstanding and vibrant learning experience. Given the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on all our lives, to do this means we’ve adapted the way we deliver learning and teaching to ensure you can study and enjoy University life safely.

Blended learning basically means that you will have a mix – a ‘blend’ – of on-campus, in person delivery and online teaching and learning activities to engage with and participate in.

We are working hard to make sure that we can deliver as much face-to-face teaching as we can and the elements of your course that can be delivered safely in person will be. Our campus-based learning facilities (for example, laboratories, workshops, the library, and most of our classrooms) will be open, but with added safety measures to meet national safety guidelines.

Different courses will have to adapt to this blended model in ways that suit their subject and their students. For example, courses that require access to scientific laboratories or include placements, or require students to work in practice, will all have distinctive needs that require distinctive approaches.

Most seminars, tutorials, workshops, and lab-based, sessions are being timetabled for in-person delivery. We believe they are an essential part of your experience and a key part of our blended approach.

As the situation and Government guidance develops, we’ll take that into account, always making sure that you have the best experience with us.

Keeping our campus safe

Things will be a little different but we’ve made sure that you can use the campus and its buildings as normally as possible.

Most buildings, including the library, sports facilities, Student Central, shops and food outlets will be open, and you’ll be able to enjoy our outstandingly green campus. Obviously there will be differences, such as one-way systems and limits on lift use and these will have clear signs to help you.

You can be confident that everything we have done is in line with national guidance and is designed to allow you to enjoy to the full your time here while keeping everyone safe.
