Partner Teaching Staff

The University expects partner staff engaged in delivering University of Bradford programmes to be suitably qualified and experienced.

All partners’ staff to be engaged in delivering University of Bradford programmes are required to be approved as part of the University approval process, and their CVs are required to evidence their suitability.

It is a requirement that partners keep the University informed about staff changes and seek the approval of the relevant School, through the Programme Coordinator, for any new staff they wish to employ in the delivery of Bradford programmes. Programme Coordinators should consult the guidance for the approval of academic staff at partner institutions.

Support for Partner Staff

Staff Access to Learning Resources

Staff in partner institutions will usually require access to learning resources including web-based applications such as Blackboard and online journals and databases. Requests for staff access should be made to Learner Support Services via the link School, and individual access must be renewed on an annual basis. 

Staff Development

The University expects partners to have an appropriate staff development policy for staff involved in the delivery, support and administration of University of Bradford programmes, and to provide suitable opportunities for their professional development.

The University aims to support partners in this regard and partner staff are invited to attend University staff development events, to build research links, and to register for research degrees offered by the University.

Partner staff who do not hold a suitable teaching qualification are required to undertake Module 1 of the University’s Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice, which is available by distance learning. 

Peer Observation of Teaching

The Programme Coordinator, or other University colleagues, will undertake observation of teaching as part of their regular visits to partner institutions.
