Applicant Experience Days

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19): For information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and our on-campus events, please see our latest guidance.

If you receive an offer from us you may also be invited to an Applicant Experience Day.

The events are designed exclusively for offer holders and will be your first real day on campus.

You'll be part of a smaller group than at an Open Day, giving you a great opportunity to quiz your future academics on your course and get a feel for what you'll be doing day-to-day. It is the perfect opportunity to help you decide whether Bradford feels right for you.

Your day

The day is organised by the academic department you’ve applied for and will include a programme of interactive activities which may include a selection of mini-lectures, workshops, team-based activities and tours of the specialist facilities you would use as a student at the University of Bradford.

You will:

  • Meet your fellow offer holders
  • Experience how your course is delivered and ask our academics anything
  • Find out where a degree in your chosen subject could take you
  • Explore campus and get a feel for the city

You can also complement your department's programme with an optional student-led campus tour – visiting our accommodation, sports centre and library.

Our student support services will also be available for you to talk to about student finance, careers guidance and support for learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

If you're at school or college you should be able to take the day off to attend. Parents and guardians can also attend – a specific programme has been developed to give information, advice and guidance on supporting with the application process and the transition to university. Alternatively, parents and guardians can take part in the academic-led sessions with you.

You may have several event dates to choose from - you'll get details on how to book your place via email alongside your offer.

Getting here

By public transport

If you’re getting the bus to Bradford, or arriving by train at Forster Square or Bradford Interchange, the University is 15 minutes’ walk from the city centre.

Go through City Park and continue past the Alhambra Theatre up Great Horton Road. Campus is about 300 metres up this hill, just beyond the College.

By road

Bradford is connected to the motorway network by the M62 and M606, which we recommend you use if arriving from the south, east or west. Use the A629/A650 via Skipton if arriving from the north-west, or the A1 or A19 if arriving from the north-east.

Sat Nav postcode - use BD7 1AZ.

Unfortunately parking on campus is limited and we are unable to offer parking to those attending Applicant Experience Days or interviews. If you do need to drive to campus there are a number of public car parks close by – just remember to allow a little extra time to get to us. Details of parking nearby can be found here.

If you hold a disabled badge you will be able to park in our visitors car park. Please enter via the Richmond Road entrance and collect a parking permit from the main reception desk in the Richmond Building.

Applicant interviews

Some subjects do not hold Applicant Experience Days as they conduct interviews before giving an offer instead. If the department you have applied to conducts individual interviews, you’ll receive an email invite to one of our interview sessions along with details of any other activities happening at the session. Following your interview session, we’ll contact you with an offer providing your interview is successful.

Optional campus tours will also be available at interview sessions.

This is Bradford

You can become the very best version of yourself at the University of Bradford. It’s a place where amazing things happen.
