What impact did your MSc in Software Engineering at the University of Bradford have on your career?
I gained so much knowledge from my master’s degree from the University of Bradford. It helped me to secure work after graduation. My final year project, which was ‘Online Tutor Finder’, was instrumental in helping me secure my first job.

Why did you decide to come to study at Bradford?
Bradford is a multi-cultural city, it is known for its friendly culture and amazing food. I came to know about the University of Bradford through a friend of mine who was also a student at the University. He referred me to the University of Bradford. I researched the programme on offer and compared with similar programmes offered in other universities, I found this programme balanced, and it had all the ingredients which I needed to pursue my career in Software Engineering.

What advice would you give other students hoping to work in your profession?
My advice to students would be to focus on what they enjoy doing most. The Computer Software industry is so vast you have many choices in terms of the professional routes you can take. For example you may want to be a programmer, web developer or graphic designer. The key is to identify and then focus on what you enjoy most and then show a positive interest in that area. There is a lot going on in this field. If you are quick to adopt, the new technologies keep yourself updated with developments in the field, and stay focused you will achieve what you have dreamed for.

Tell us a little more about yourself; where you come from, your motivations, inspiration and personal ambitions.
I am from Pakistan. Before coming to the UK I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and worked as Developer. Being a developer motivates you to create amazing products for the end user. I have always been interested in creating something new which can benefit everyone.
