Zainab Garba-Sani

A Clinical Success

Clinical Sciences graduate Zainab Garba-Sani made the most of her university experience! A student representative in second year and faculty representative in third year, she also took part in the study abroad programme, where she visited Egypt. Zainab was then elected to serve as a Sabbatical Officer for 2017/18 in the role of Academic Affairs Officer. As she prepares for her new role, within the NHS, we got the lowdown from her on her time in Bradford.

Scaling the heights

For some people an MBA might be their educational summit. Other people find real-life mountains to climb. Occasionally you find remarkable individuals, such as Bradford Alumni Sangeeta Sindhi Bahl, who conquer both.

And her advice is quite simple: “Never give up if you are passionate about something. Find your own Everest to scale and persevere until you get to it.” A motto for life if ever there was one.

Professor Oshita Oshita

Peace building in Africa

Professor Oshita Osang Oshita is one of the notable Braduates making an impact in Africa. He obtained an MA in Peace Studies from Bradford, something he describes as “life changing”, and is now Director General and CEO of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution in Nigeria. 

Professor Oshita spoke to the Braduate about his career, the peace challenges in Nigeria, and why he believes Bradford has a unique link with West Africa.

“Sisters are doin’ it for themselves; standin’ on their own two feet”

That's how the song goes and that’s what Valeria and Veronika Mantziou are now doing, as a result of recently graduating from the University of Bradford. Their Bradford degrees have set the sisters up for prestigious postgraduate study with Veronika being accepted onto a Master’s of Philosophy course at Cambridge, and Valeria heading to University College London to study for a Master’s in Law.
