Each year the University recognises staff and students who have contributed to University life. There are two separate award streams:
- Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Outstanding Achievement
- Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Awards
Full details of each award stream, including criteria and nomination information, are available via the links below.
These awards recognise those who have made a major contribution to the life of the University, in particular to achieving the overarching objectives of the University Strategy - Excellence; Internationalisation; Equality and Diversity; Sustainability.
The awards provide recognition to individuals and teams who are interested in working towards institutional nomination for a national teaching award for their sustained, outstanding and transformational practice. The scheme requires self-nomination
Nominations are now open
Nominations are open for both the Outstanding Achievement and Teaching Excellence Awards:
- nominations for the Outstanding Achievement Awards can be made by any University staff member or student
- the Teaching Excellence Awards requires self-nomination
The closing date for nominations for both awards is Monday 5 February 2018.
The Award ceremonies
The Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Outstanding Achievement event will take place on 3rd May 2018 (17:00-20:30pm).
The winners of the Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Awards will be celebrated at the annual Learning, Teaching & Research Conference on 14 June 2018, and awarded at Summer 2018 graduations.
It was a proud moment to be recognised for the work that I do with Adult Learners. It was also a thoroughly enjoyable evening and chance to find out about all of the work that is going on around the University.
