We Can Be Heroes

Work-in-progress

This is a show about facing your fears.

This is a show about how I faced my fears and became a super hero.

PlaY are in the process of creating a new piece that explores a growing number of ordinary members of the public who create alternative “superhero” personas and patrol the streets in their own personalized costumes, often performing acts of charity or kindness such as feeding the homeless. Could we be heroes too?

PLaY creates multi-diciplinary contemporary performances and sound installations for different audiences in theatre and public spaces. The company's work is based on a collaborative approach led by Jamie Fletcher and Dick Bonham. Working as a duo and with a range of artists from different disciplines PLaY has toured all over the UK performing in abandoned shops, train stations, city streets, parks and festivals, as well as receiving commissions and residences from some of the UK's most innovative arts centres and theatre venues, including Greenroom (Manchester), The Arches (Glasgow) and BAC, Battersea Arts Centre (London).

Part of the Open Space scheme at Theatre in the Mill.
