Degree Classifications
Undergraduate
The University currently awards four different degrees of Bachelor
- Bachelor of Science (BSc)
- Bachelor of Arts (BA)
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng)
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
Some undergraduate courses offer additional years of study to enable you to progress to, for example, an MEng, MPharm, MChem or MSci.
The degree awarded is an Honours degree and is classified, as First Class, Second Class (first or second division), or Third Class - The only exceptions are courses leading directly to a Master's degree, and the new Foundation Degrees.
Students who leave after successfully completing the first year of a degree are awarded a Certificate of Higher Education. Those who similarly leave after the second year can obtain a Diploma of Higher Education.
The University offers three different Foundation degrees:
- Foundation degree in Science (FdSc)
- Foundation degree in Arts (FdA)
- Foundation degree in Engineering (FdEng)

We award:
- Degree of Master
- Master of Arts (MA)
- Master of Science (MSc)
- Master of Engineering (MEng)
- Master in Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Education (MEd)
- Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip)
- Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert)
- Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
