Biography
Siama Kausar is an Assistant
Professor in Clinical Pharmacy and the Simulation Lead for the MPharm programme
at the University of Bradford. She is passionate about creating innovative,
simulation-based learning experiences that transform pharmacy education and
pedagogy. Her work spans teaching on the undergraduate MPharm degree and
developing immersive approaches that prepare students for real-world practice.
Siama prides herself on
collaboration across the university, sharing ideas and co-creating initiatives
that benefit both students and colleagues beyond her faculty. As an early
career researcher, her interests include simulation, deprescribing, artificial
intelligence, and health inequalities, often exploring ways to integrate these
areas for impactful research.
With extensive experience in
community, hospital, and general practice settings, Siama currently works as an
Advanced Lead Pharmacist with a Specialist Interest in Heart Failure,
Cardio-Renal Medicine, and Mental Health. She has led services and teams as an
Operational Lead and PCN Manager, demonstrating strong leadership and
innovation in clinical practice.
Her commitment to the profession
was recognised early when she won the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Student of
the Year Award in 2015. Today, Siama continues to champion excellence in
pharmacy education and practice, driving forward initiatives that shape the
future of healthcare.

Teaching
Siama’s teaching interests encompass clinical pharmacy practice, mental health, cardio-renal medicine, prescribing and deprescribing and the integration of simulation into pharmacy education. She is dedicated to designing immersive learning experiences that prepare students for real-world clinical challenges and enhance their confidence in practice. Her work on the undergraduate MPharm programme reflects a commitment to bridging theory with practical application through innovative simulation-based pedagogy.
