  • International Forum on Urban Poverty New! - The International Forum on Urban Poverty is a partnership of local and international actors working for the eradication of poverty according to a strategy based on sound governance, partnership and the participation of people living in poverty. This website contains information on the work and core issues of the forum, and is available in English, French and Spanish.

  • Sickle Cell Society New! - The Sickle Cell Society was set up as a registered charity in 1979. It aims to be the most successful sickle cell organisation nationally with a wide network of well-informed, committed and active supporters working at local, national and international levels. The websit contains information about the Society, it's news and it's work, as well as projects, reports and research and information for health professionals.

  • Campaign Against Racism and Fascism New! - CARF is an independent anti-racist magazine, documenting resistance against racism - from black and refugee organisations, monitoring groups,anti-deportation campaigns, and more. The CARF collective also campaigns actively against racism and provides information, support and speakers on race issues. The website contains some of the articles available in the CARF magazine, which is published bimonthly in the UK, as well as campaign information, contacts and links.

  • The Health Promotion Information Centre - Health Related Resources Database. The site includes a series of health related resources databases for specific population groups including black and minority ethnicgroups. The databases aim to provide professionals with up-to-date information about nationally available resources that promote health and healthy living. Each database contains several hundred reviews of health-related resources, describing who the resource is for, what it covers, how it can be used and how to obtain copies. The database for black and minority ethnic groups include resources reviewed since 1994.

  • EthnoMed - The EthnoMed site contains information about cultural beliefs, medical issues and other related issues pertinent to the health care of recent immigrants; also contains Ethnic Medicine Guide from Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington. Contains a Resource Bibliography In Cross Cultural Nursing, 1998, by Melinda Mich and Noel Chrisman, University of Washington.

  • CulturedMed - The site provides a good Transcultural Nursing bibligraphy produced by Jacquelyn Coughlan, State University of New York Institute of Technology. Also includes refugee and immigrant health databases and statistics, libraries with ethnic collections along with other materials.

  • The Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations - The Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations is the major academic body in the UK for the research and teaching of matters concerning racism, migration and ethnic relations. It is a research centre of the ESRC and is jointly funded by the University of Warwick. The web site includes the National Ethnic Minority Data Archive (NEMDA).

  • Transcultural Nursing Society - The site aims to; promote the field of Transcultural Nursing, provide information about this field to those who are interested in the topic, encourage nurses who want to further their education in Transcultural Nursing to join the Transcultural Nursing Society and promote the interactions of those who are interested in Transcultural Nursing. The site has a discussion forum for transcultural nursing issues and also has information for subscribing to its mailing list.

  • Commission for Racial Equality (UK) - The Commission for Racial Equality is the government body for monitoring and advising on race issues in Britain. The web site covers areas such as law, publications and facts about racism together with a comprehensive list of contacts.

  • Britkid - This is a website about race, racism, and life - as seen though the eyes of the Britkids. The site has a game which can be used as an educational tool as well as the serious issues on racism.

  • Transcultural Nursing - This is an interactive and continually changing site whereby you can submit case reports and anecdotes of actual problems that occur as a result of cultural differences. It also has a discussion forum.

  • Office of Minority Health Resources Centre - Allows you to search the following databases. The Organizations Database contains information about minority health organizations. The Programs Database includes information about minority health community and career programs. The Document Database contains listings of over 1400 publications. These include books, government reports, bibliographies, directories, pamphlets, journals, magazines, and fact sheets. Entries include short abstracts and information about the publication. 

  • European Crosspoint Anti Racism - The site has links to a number of organisations all over the world, all of them working in the field of human rights, anti-racism, refugees, anti-semitism, women, labour, antifacism etc.

  • DiversityRx - Diversity Rx has information available on how to meet the language and cultural needs of minorities, immigrants, refugees and other diverse populations seeking health care

  •  Research Centre for Transcultural Studies in Health - Located at Middlesex University, School of Health, Biological & Environmental Sciences, the Centre's webpage contains useful information about its work and many links including all the above addresses.

  • The Center for Cross Cultural Health - Very useful site which offers cultural competency resources, a providers guide for caring across cultures and the Center's newsletter which can all be downloaded plus community profiles.

  • Black information Link - The Black Information Link is information exchange for Asian, African and Caribbean community groups and organisations around the UK. This website provides and links to information about issues such as Arts and Culture, Campaigns, Disability Information, Education, Health Information, Human Rights, Sustainable Development and Technology.
