Social Work and Social Policy

Research in this unit is interdisciplinary but has a focus on diversity and social inclusion: it coalesces particularly around two main areas:

  • Diversity and identity: including research on ethnicity, and on theories of identity and dialogue in the social and social psychological sciences.
  • Social work, families and inclusion: here work focuses on child well-being and welfare, on religion and belief in social work practice, and on management and leadership in social work.

The research in both above areas has local, national and international significance, and is carried out by staff within the Centre for Applied Social Research (CASR).
