Workshop on healthy, inclusive and sustainable cities

Location: University of Bradford, Bradford, UK

Date and Time:
Thu 13 Jul 2017, 08:30 - Fri 14 Jul 2017, 19:00

This is the fourth workshop in a three year (2015-2018) research project on ‘Inclusive, smart and sustainable cities’ funded by the British Academy.

This workshop has a special focus on Healthy city theme. What is meant by a healthy city? How is the idea of healthy city related to other ideas of an inclusive city or a sustainable city? What are the common frontiers and overlaps? What have we learned from more than two decades of Healthy Cities networks? What are the local, national and global forces, challenges as well as opportunities that can be adapted and leveraged to achieve healthy and sustainable well-being for urban citizens given that much of future growth in population is likely to take place in urban areas? The workshop is designed to be a dialogue between academic scholars, researchers and practitioners.
