The University of Bradford is committed to the support and development of research of international excellence. It is also committed to maximising the economic and social benefits of such research, with a strong focus on the regeneration of the city and region.

The University's research strategy is focused upon:

  • Supporting and growing research of international quality in focussed areas

  • Contributing regionally to wealth creation, social cohesion and the quality of life through the exploitation and application of industrially and socially relevant high quality research

  • Developing the research and innovation skills of students and staff, and using these as a resource

The Research & Knowledge Transfer Support (RKTS) Department provides research, commercialisation and consultancy support to all academic and research staff.

All publicly funded research activity is supported by the Research Support Unit in RKTS. Publicly funded research activity is a core element of the University's activities.

The Business Partnerships team in RKTS encourage, facilitate and support connections between academics and businesses and help to raise academics profiles through the promotion of research and knowledge transfer success.  The team also coordinate Knowledge Transfer Partnerships projects for the University.

The commercialisation team seek out and help to exploit academic intellectual property for the benefit of both the academic and the University.
