Research in this area is focused on how new digital technologies and services are affecting people’s lives in the world of work, travel and home.

Greening of Higher Education

A national UK project, based at Bradford since 2001, has been working on improving the sustainability performance and management of UK Higher Education.

Ecoversity

The University ambition to redesign its campus and operations to reduce its environmental impact means the area is developing a programme of research around sustainability on campus.

Sustainability and community participation

This research area looks at the role of community participation in the development and successful management of a range of different environmental and community projects.

Water management

This vibrant area of research concentrates on the way that policy and practice interact with the public in relation to water management in the UK. The research is part of the Bradford Water Group, and, in an alliance with University of Sheffield, the Pennine Water Group

Applied ecology

Research in this area is primarily focused on understanding the role of different factors, and in particular human activity, in modifying vegetation composition, and identifying interventions, from local site management to national air quality management, to protect and enhance biodiversity.
