The Graduate School provides research training (RT) for postgraduate students and other members of the research community in the University. The Graduate School is part of the Academic Development Unit.
The Graduate School does not handle applications for Masters and PhD places elsewhere in the University. If you are interested in applying for a specific Masters programme, or a PhD place in the University, please contact the relevant department or School. If you would like to find out more about the MRes programme run by The Graduate School, please contact us at the address below.
The Graduate School runs two programmes of research training. The first is the formal, MRes programme leading to the awards of the PG Certificate in Research Methods, the PG Diploma in Research Methods, and the degree of MRes (Masters in Research Methods).
The second is the programme of Short Courses for Researchers (SCR), which do not carry a credit weighting. The SCR programme is only available to research students, contract researchers and staff currently registered at or working in the University.
The Graduate School research training programmes are managed and led by Dr Judi Sture. She is supported by a team of part time tutors and colleagues from within the University. A dedicated administrative team is based in the Graduate School to support the academic staff and to handle student and applicant enquiries.
