Working in Partnership:
This postgraduate programme is a collaboration between the University of Bradford, leading law enforcement agencies and slavery scholars. It engages with legal, policy and practice issues rooted in Government obligations under the 2005 Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings. Under the Convention, the UK Government is tasked with the prevention & protection of victims of trafficking and the prosecution of traffickers. Under ratification of the Convention, a new National Referral Mechanism (NRM) was introduced in April 2009. The NRM provides the UK nationally agreed framework to help frontline staff identify and support victims of trafficking.
This qualification is aimed at any professional or scholar, familiar with an area or aspect of trafficking, and who wishes to advance their existing academic and practice knowledge to gain an academic award.
Consequently, it seeks to develop learning on two fronts. It aims to provide applicants with both the conceptual and theoretical framework necessary for sophisticated analysis of this global phenomenon. Additionally, it also seeks to equip applicants with an interdisciplinary perspective, increasingly required for professional progress in tackling key issues within human trafficking.

This qualification embraces 3 pathways to knowledge. Entry and exit is dependent upon previous academic study and /or relevant professional knowledge.
