Welcome to the Spring 2010 edition of News & Views

Welcome to the Spring edition of News & Views.

News & Views once again has lots of exciting news to share with you in this edition.

The University campus is undergoing further transformations and we share with our readers some completed, ongoing and upcoming estates developments (pages 4 and 5) and in January a state-of-the-art £1m clinical skills suite was opened by England’s Chief Pharmaceutical Officer (page 6).

This edition’s My View is written by Professor of visual computing, Hassan Ugail, who discusses Visual Computing research and its importance in today's society (Page 12 and 13).

Our Learning and Teaching (14 and 15) celebrates the success of the Teaching Quality Enhancement Group (TQEG) team gaining professional recognition, and also looks at the same team taking a national lead in debates to provide the best online support.

Research and Knowledge Transfer news (pages 16-21) highlights the Royal Society launch of the Science Brides Bradford-China programme, celebrates the success of a research fellow becoming one of the first-ever NICE Fellows, and looks at a piece of research which suggests that hormonal levels in pregnant women could reduce their memory.

Best wishes until the Summer.
