Here you can find details of some of the sessions that take place in Welcome week.

Vice Chancellors meet and greet session

On Tuesday 16 September the Vice Chancellor of the University, and the leadership team from Students' Union will host an informal meet and greet session to welcome new students to the University of Bradford for the September intake of the 2025/26 Academic Year in SC02 Student Central.

Student Timetable Familiarisation sessions

On Monday 15 September the Timetabling Team will host an online Student Timetable Familiarisation session.

The session will be repeated on Tuesday 16 September for anyone that cannot attend on Monday.

Finance Talks

On Tuesday 16 September the Student Life Team will host online money advice sessions to advise new students.

Report and Support session

On Tuesday 16 September the Dignity and Respect Team will host an awareness Session on Harassment and Bullying at University. 

Help create a safer, more respectful campus for everyone! Come to our interactive session to learn how to recognise, prevent, and respond to harassment and bullying. Discover the support and reporting methods available to you, and how you can make a difference for yourself and for others. You can attend online or in person.

Student Attendance and Engagement sessions

On Tuesday 16 September the Student Engagement Team will host a hybrid session to familiarise new students with the attendance and engagement policy here at the University. There will be a chance to learn more about how attendance is monitored, where students can access different kinds of support and chance to ask questions at the end. 

This session will be hybrid and can be attended in person or online.

The session will be repeated on Thursday 18 September for anyone that cannot attend on Monday.

Introduction to Academic and Student Support Services

Our student support services will host the Introduction to Academic and Student Support Services online session on Thursday 18 September.

This session will provide information on all the student services at the University of Bradford who can assist you during your studies. This includes: Academic Skills Advice, Career and Employability Services, Chaplaincy and Multi-Faith Team, Counselling and Mental Health Service, Disability Advice Service, The Language Centre, Library, MyBradford, Student Experience and Success Team and the Student Life Team.

Please save this to your course list on your Canvas account so you can access information and updates on all offers from academic and student support.

Student Representative session

On Thursday 18 September the SABB Team will host an online session for all new and returning students interested in becoming a Student Representative.

Being a Student Representative is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference to your programme and the wider University experience. Your chance to be the voice of your programme and shape your University experience. This isn't just a role; it's an opportunity to develop awesome leadership skills, meet new people, and leave a lasting impact! You'll work alongside staff to gather feedback from your peers, suggest improvements, and ensure the student voice is heard at every level.

During this online session, we'll cover:

  • What being a Student Representative involves
  • The benefits of becoming a representative 
  • How to apply and get involved - no experience needed!
  • Training opportunities

This is your chance to step up, make a real impact, and find your place within our welcoming University community and develop valuable skills.
