"Since I wanted to
work in the UK, I thought that it would be good to have a degree from
a top UK business school. Based on the ranking from the Financial
Times, I picked five top schools offering masters in finance. Next,
I did research on these five schools and I found that Bradford was
the best choice for me, as it offers excellent value for money, and
the cost of living in Bradford is also very reasonable. Also, the
School is recognised by the UK business community, and it is quite
easy for me to get to London," Miloslav explained.
"I was looking for a course which would give me a bit of a general business background and a deep knowledge of finance. The MA at Bradford fits that perfectly. "I have had a great time at the School of Management. I particularly enjoy the tightly knit community, and it is so nice when you are on the campus and you know almost all of the students and teachers as well. I also like the small sized tutorial groups which are very good for learning and interaction with the tutor. The lecturers are very friendly and I believe that I will stay in touch with some of them even after finishing the course. "Although I have travelled a lot and have lived in the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark and the UK, I was still surprised about the number of nationalities on my course. I find it excellent. To me learning is not just about reading books and writing assignments, but also about getting to know new people, their cultures and their points of view. Moreover, after completing this course I will have contacts from all over the world. "I would like to find a job either in management consulting or in investment banking, preferably in London. Even though I already had a master before coming to Bradford, I wasn't sure whether my academic knowledge and my level of English were good enough to find a job in the UK. Now, with the masters from the Bradford School of Management I am very positive that I will find a good job in the area I am interested in. I learnt not only the theory but also how to apply it in practice. In addition, my English is now considerably better than before. "I would advise prospective students to the course to join the Bradford University Finance and Investment Society (www.fisbu.co.uk). I and a few friends of mine set up this society for students interested in finance and banking. Through an active engagement in the Society you will get to know important people and learn a lot about real business life. "Also, buy a bicycle! Bradford is a very bicycle- friendly city." |

"I found it a great place to live
and study, it has a friendly environment, and has all the facilities
that are suitable for student life.
"My course offers a wide range of topics and offers the chance to select the subjects that suit my needs. Also, the degree itself will help me to work in any part of the world. "Apart from knowledge, the major experience that I have gained from the course so far is the sprit of group work and co-operation. There are many students from different backgrounds around the world and I have not only enjoyed working with a mixture of people, but also benefited from their friendships and knowledge transfer. "The course has given me lots of new ideas about my future working life. There are many practical issues in the course which facilitate my future idea of establishing a financial consultancy service with some colleagues from the same course. "Bradford School of Management is known for high standards both in teaching quality and programme design. The courses that it offers, especially the one I am on, meet student expectations. The choices it provides enhance students' preferences and performance in gaining knowledge. The School has a unique way of teaching. The lecturers interact with student on a frequent basis to help build up their analytical and innovation skills." |

"The programme offers a wide range of topics and students have the chance to customise the course to their own needs. The biggest advantages, apart from the pure knowledge transfer, are aspects such as the training in group work and presentation. There are lots of students from different backgrounds and I have really enjoyed working with a mixture of people. The Bradford MA has given me lots of new ideas about my future working life. The course is very practical, which makes it valuable, and the degree itself is useful for working within an international context."

"Through the experience
of my daily work in the Japanese Business School and my background
in Latin American studies, I had recognized that I needed a much stronger
fundamental understanding of the international business environment,
so I decided to take the MA in IBM at Bradford," Mariano explained.
"The first semester covered subjects that represent the foundation of business management studies. For the second semester you can tailor the choice of modules to your own personal interests and research subjects. As part of the IBM course, I could take part in the International School Module at the Leon Kozmisnki Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management in Poland in collaboration with AUDENCIA from France, EADA from Spain and Bradford University - all members of the Alliance for Business Education. It enhanced my understanding of the skills required to create global leaders "My overall career objective is to become a key executive in a company in Latin America. I want to be someone who possesses the ability to communicate with foreign counterparts and facilitate international cooperation through corporate culture. "In that sense, the School of Management provides the major foundations to explore today's problems and issues in the international environment and helps to develop communication skills across different nationalities and points of view, as well as negotiation and team-building skills. As well as a diverse student population, the School also has an international academic staff. "If you have the opportunity to come to Bradford School of Management, go for it, because this is a unique opportunity and the School provides you an infinite number of possibilities." |

"The School is known for high standards both in teaching quality and programme design - and it has lived up to my expectations. It also appealed to me because of the wide choice of modules that provide flexibility and can be tailored to the students' preferences. I am very impressed by the teaching approach. The lecturers and professors not only teach theories and methods, but also involve us in the lectures and help to build up our analytical and innovation skills. The staff are very approachable and willing to help students not only in the academic area but also with personal development. The opportunity to study with students of different nationalities and cultures is an invaluable experience."

"I choose marketing
because it is relevant to my first degree and it appeals to me as
I intend to specialise in relationship management/ marketing.
"It has been interesting and also tough and challenging. It has helped me to develop some areas of marketing, although I think more emphasis should be placed on CRM for students like me. "The school is challenging academically, and highly multicultural." |

"Bradford
is one of the highest ranking business schools in the UK and also,
the course design suits me. Before coming to this school, I was a
product designer. It is often thought that the designer's role is
to create something artificial. However, due to the internationalisation
and economic growth in the developing countries, design is no longer
an art work. Designers also need to know how to promote the products
and services to the targeted market and customers. That is why I have
decided to learn about marketing at Bradford.
"I have learned how to work with people of different nationalities through group work. As Japan is one-nation country, it is not necessary to express my opinion to others when I am there, even in the workplace. However, here, I need to speak out about I am thinking and ask them to do. It was quite a tough work for me. "I have also learned about the different educational system in UK. All of the work in the courses require me to 'think' about the fact and truth. The ability to think critically is an essential skill in the work. In contrast, in Asian countries, memorising a lot of things becomes the first priority in terms of studying. There is a big gap between Eastern and Western educational systems. Personally, I prefer the Western way of studying that gives me a chance to think about various things. "After graduation, I would like to work for in marketing-related job in the service marketing field. The MA Marketing and Management course has provided not only the marketing related subjects, but also many options to learn about management related modules, such as HRM and accouting" |

"The School's good reputation, the marketing course itself and the wide choice of electives to tailor the course to my own personal interest areas attracted me to this programme. We met such a wide range of people from different nationalities and with different interests and opinions. This meant that not only did we learn from the course but also from each other. The chance to choose relevant and interesting electives meant that I had a lot of control over what I got out of the course. The course enabled me to develop an analytical view of business and management issues and I no longer take anything at face value. If you get the chance to do an MA at Bradford, take it. To get the best out of the programme you have to make sure you work hard, but it is also important to enjoy the social aspect and to take advantage of the unique opportunity to meet and make friends with such a variety of people."
