This exciting, innovative and flexible course offers a route to personal and career development for HR practitioners or those aspiring to become an HR practitioner. Students will, over two academic years, attend the School of Management on one afternoon and evening a week during term-time. During this period you will engage with an intensive taught programme of study which will support you both in developing a broad understanding and knowledge of the field of HR and in specialising in areas of HR of particular interest to you.
And, unlike many other courses of its type, studying at Bradford not only gives you the CIPD qualification - Post Graduate Diploma in HRM - but also offers you a route to a master's degree. Students may exit at the end of two years with a Post Graduate Diploma in HRM or may continue for a third year in order to complete a dissertation and gain an MSc in HRM. You can decide at the end of the 1st year which one of these routes you'd like to follow. Both awards will lead to Graduate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, subject to you additionally successfully completing a programme of personal and professional skills development.
Bradford University's School of Management has, deservedly, an excellent reputation and you will enjoy first class teaching and facilities on this programme. Students on the programme are drawn from a wide range of organisations across West Yorkshire, including both private and public sector and large, medium and small firms. The programme will thus also allow you to develop professional networks that will benefit you across your entire career.

Whilst many applicants will have a first degree from an approved university (not necessarily in business and management), this is not always essential. We will consider applicants who do not have a first degree if they have substantial relevant work experience (normally a minimum of 5 years). Please contact us should you wish to discuss your individual circumstances further.
Proficiency in English - a 6.5 score on IELTS test of English, 580 in written TOEFL or 240 in computer-based TOEFL needed from non-native speakers. From 1 May 2006, those applicants using the Internet-based TOEFL test are required to obtain a score of 94 or better.
It may also be possible, on occasion, to admit students onto the programme who do not have the necessary academic qualifications but who demonstrate a significant amount of work experience at a professional level.

The pursuit and celebration of diversity are a central part of our mission statement. In The Guardian newspaper's 2005 league table of UK undergraduate business-studies courses, we equalled the top score for inclusiveness - a measure of our ability to attract under-represented groups such as disabled, mature and ethnic-minority students to our undergraduate courses. If you are from one of these groups, you can be certain that you will be offered appropriate specialist support and guidance during your time with us. For example, the University of Bradford has a well established Disability Office, while international students can take advantage of the support and advice offered by the University's International Office. The International Office was ranked top in its category in a recent international survey of student-support services and the Counselling Service second best among its peers.
