Background
/ Management Project
My name is Svetlana Kopytina and I come from Kazakhstan, the former Soviet Union country. I graduated from the University in Kazakhstan in 1999, and started the international business management in my University. Then after that I worked for 4 years in the telecommunications company and I worked in the marketing department. Before coming here my position was the head of that marketing department in the company, and I just felt that I lacked some academic knowledge and experience to be the manager or to be the head of the marketing department so I decided to do my MBA.
Actually to do my MBA I won the scholarship from the government of Kazakhstan to come here to do the postgraduate study. This scholarship was administered by the British Council and they advised me Bradford was one of the best universities in the UK.
My management project, the last part of the MBA here, is the project I will do in a company which is based here in the UK, in Bradford. It's called 'Webmotion', and the company make web designs so it's kind of a telecommunications company, so the industry where I worked before and the industry that I'm very interested in.
After graduation from Bradford, I will come back to Kazakhstan, to the same company where I worked before, they are waiting for me and I hope I can contribute a lot to that company and I hope to get maybe a bit higher position or even if it's the same position, the head of marketing department.
