Career prospects

Many of the people who study law go on to become solicitors and barristers. You will receive a certificate of completion from the Law Society on successful completion of the Bradford LLB Law degree. This will enable you to proceed to the Legal Practice Course (for aspiring solicitors) or the Bar Vocational Course (for aspiring barristers). The University does not offer these courses, and acceptance on to them is competitive.

If you do not wish to become a solicitor or barrister, the skills learned on our LLB course - from critical thinking to communication skills to computer literacy - are also an excellent preparation for a wide range of other careers, from the probation service to international business, from the civil service to the police force, and from politics to the media.

Alternatively, you may decide to go on to postgraduate legal study.

The Careers Development Service at the University of Bradford provides a range of quality, career-focused services. It has a dedicated officer who deals with LLB students, and holds an extensive set of resources covering all aspects of the legal profession. The Careers Development Service advertises annually the regional law fairs and has very effective working relationships with the other regional higher-education careers services.
