What you will study
The course is flexible in that you can decide at the end of the 1st and 2nd stages whether you wish to exit with a Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma or continue on to complete your dissertation and achieve an LLM.
The programme has three stages:

PG Certificate
The first stage of the programme introduces you to the key areas relating to the impact of the law on medical practice:
Module 1 - Introduction to Law
Module 2 - Medical Negligence
Module 3 - Law and the Expert Witness
On completion of these modules you would qualify for the award of a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Law.
PG Diploma
The second stage of the programme allows you to focus on specific areas of personal interest
in order to develop an in depth knowledge of a number of areas.
Optional subjects include:

You would also have the opportunity to undertake modules in research methodology and ethics in preparation for the final research project.
On completion of these modules you would qualify for the award of a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Law.
LLM
The final stage of the programme is a self contained research project on an agreed area of personal interest. On completion of this project you would qualify for the award of LLM in Healthcare Law.
