Course content
The course includes five days of tuition each week from qualified and experienced teachers of academic and general English using management courseware and other materials, plus lectures by School of Management staff.
The programme helps you to:
- listen to spoken English and get the most out of lectures
- take effective notes
- make best use of the library and other School of Management resources
- read English efficiently
- speak English correctly
- prepare for, and take part in, seminars
- give interesting oral presentations
- write crisp and jargon-free business and management essays and reports, and
- prepare for master's level examinations at the School of Management.
The course provides an effective and enjoyable introduction to life at the School of Management, while simultaneously improving your English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The teachers will ask you to work both individually and in groups, to introduce you to the kinds of teaching and projects used at the School of Management. Some sessions may involve the use of language laboratories, video or computer-assisted learning.
